Summary/Abstract: This study examines the pivotal role of social media platforms in contemporary hybrid warfare strategies and their multifaceted functions, spanning from digital diplomacy to cyberattacks. The transformation of traditional security paradigms in the digital age has led to both state and non-state actors using social media as both a soft power tool and an attack vector. The research addresses the topic by integrating the theoretical framework of hybrid warfare with social media dynamics, utilizing current case studies, particularly examining recent operations by Russia and China. The findings show that the algorithmic structures of social media platforms accelerate disinformation campaigns, micro-targeting technologies make psychological operations more effective, and coordinated fake behavior bypasses traditional diplomatic channels. The study emphasizes the inadequacy of current countermeasures and proposes a comprehensive defense approach encompassing technological solutions, legal regulations, and social resilience development strategies. Ultimately, it concludes that social media’s role in hybrid warfare has evolved beyond being merely a tool to become a strategic domain, and that future security policies must take this reality into account
