Summary/Abstract: This article contributes to the analysis of the issues of the monthly magazine “New Poland. A Magazine of British-Polish Interests”, published by the British society Friends of Democratic Poland, with a focus on the portrayal of Upper Silesia as presented in its pages. The analysis covers issues from 1946–1947, a period marked by the highest intensity of Polish settlement in the part of Silesia incorporated into Poland. The authors of the analyzed texts were most often British correspondents – journalists and social activists – traveling throughout Poland, including the area of the so-called Recovered Territories, among which Silesia played a special role– both Upper Silesia (including its Opole region, which had been incorporated into Poland) and Lower Silesia, which played an enormouseconomic and social role in the new Poland.
