Summary/Abstract: This article revolves around the sources for research into the history of scouting in Congress Poland and in the Eastern Borderlands in the early 20th century. Scouting in the Polish lands partitioned between Prussia, Russia and Austria was modelled by the scout movement created by the English general Robert Baden-Powell. By 1918, in the Russian partition, scouting organisational structures had been developing in cities with the aim of an all-round development of boys and girls, and the inclusion of young people in activities aimed at regaining independence. The goal of this article is to indicate the sources in the manuscript form and to briefly present the scouting press which can serve as a source for research into the history of scouting in CongressPoland and the Eastern Borderlands. Normative sources (statutes, regulations, ordinances), epistolary, memoirs and iconographic sources have been indicated. Also noteworthy are the sources related to the formation and activities of the first scout teams in Congress Poland and in the Eastern Borderlands. Scouting periodicals, written by and for young people, are of special value in researching the origins and development of scouting. The article identifies the titles of scouting press published until the end of First World War in Congress Poland and in the Eastern Borderlands.
