Summary/Abstract: This paper develops the concept of Genius Loci Bosnensis as a framework for reading Bosnia through the spatial coexistence of cultural traditions. It distances itself both from interpretations that reduce Bosnian identity to a single origin and from those that view Bosnia primarily through conflict and division. Both approaches tend to treat space as a passive background. In this paper, space is understood as an active medium in which religious traditions, political systems, and cultural practices have interacted over centuries. Combining phenomenological and hermeneutic perspectives, the paper examines cities, landscapes, and different scripts as forms of historical continuity. Particular attention is given to water, stone, and forests in the Bosnian landscape, as well as to multigraphia, understood as the historical use of Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, and Hebrew scripts. These examples show how different historical worlds remained legible within the same territory.
