Summary/Abstract: The use of artificial intelligence in learning Serbian Sign Language (SSL) offers a practical way to address the lack of accessible and interactive educational tools. This study examines how an AI-based tutor system can support beginners in practicing SSL alphabet gestures, focusing on user perception, short-term learning outcomes, and the views of experienced instructors. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining survey data, interviews, and controlled testing. Results show that learners respond positively to created AI tool practice, reporting higher motivation and greater confidence when using it independently. Special education teachers recognize the value of such tools for basic gesture training. The findings suggest that AI tutor systems can complement traditional teaching and contribute to more inclusive and accessible SSL education.
