Rural social work: Introductory remarks on its nature and (some) useful concepts

Summary/Abstract: In Polish discourse on social work, the issue of 'rural social work' addressed in this study has so far been absent. To fill this gap, the author undertakes a reconstruction of this concept and its various interpretations based on a broad review of English-language literature on the subject. This reconstruction then enables the identification of key concepts for designing a model of social work practice that would meet the conditions and needs of rural communities in Poland. The study concludes with a reflection on possible directions for discussion and the development of Polish discourse in the field of rural social work.
