Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the process of forming and consolidating hygiene habits in preschool children aged 5-6, highlighting the theoretical foundations and the main directions for educational optimization. The topic is relevant in the context of early childhood education, since hygiene habits contribute not only to maintaining children’s health, but also to the development of autonomy, responsibility, and adaptive behaviors. The study draws on theoretical landmarks from the fields of early childhood education, child psychology, and current curricular documents, emphasizing the role of routine, adult modeling, practical exercise, and collaboration between kindergarten and family in strengthening these behaviors. In order to support the applied dimension of the paper, a small-scale pedagogical research study of a descriptive-ameliorative type was conducted on a sample of 22 children from the senior preschool group. The methods used included systematic observation, the observation sheet, and educational intervention based on practical activities and didactic games. The results highlighted an improvement in the level of hygiene habits, reflected in the increase in the number of behaviors performed correctly and independently. The conclusions of the research confirm that active, repetitive educational strategies adapted to age-specific characteristics contribute significantly to the formation of stable and functional hygiene behaviors in everyday life
