Summary/Abstract: The primary aim of military training is to equip soldiers with a set of skills enabling them to conduct combat operations effectively and ensuring survivability in a combat environment. Depending on the available weaponry and their combat role, soldiers carry out tasks requiring both mental and physical exertion. Soldiers engaged in direct combat with the enemy must exhibit robust psychological resilience alongside an optimal level of physical readiness. This physical fitness – particularly its correlation with the efficacy of tactical manoeuvres – is a subject of significant interest to researchers across diverse scientific disciplines. This paper outlines contemporary frameworks and solutions for the application of biomechanical research within military contexts, drawing parallels between the modern soldier and the professional athlete via the “tactical athlete” concept. It describes selected methods for collecting and analysing biomechanical data influencing the performance of motor activities and the training process of soldiers. Researchers now have access to the latest technological advances, enabling detailed data collection and analysis. The need for further interdisciplinary inquiry is also underscored, which could significantly contribute to improving the effectiveness of training and the execution of combat operations.
