Summary/Abstract: The article examines the contribution of Romanian film scholars, critics and Romanian theorists to the development ofscientific discourse on cinema and television. It follows the historical, methodological and aesthetic landmarks formulatedby Ion I. Cantacuzino, D.I. Suchianu, Ervin Voiculescu, Florian Potra, Călin Căliman, Dana Duma, Ioan Lazăr and GeorgeLittera. The study highlights how these authors shaped analytical tools, strengthened the history of Romanian cinema andsynchronized local research with European and international debates on cinematic art.
