Summary/Abstract: The article examines the role of film editing in the process of meaning-making and in the way the spectator perceivesand interprets the audiovisual product. Starting from the premise that cinema functions as a complex semiotic system, whereimage, sound, and narrative structure contribute to the construction of the filmic message, the study highlights that editing transcends the technical function of assembling shots, becoming an essential tool for organizing represented reality. Through the se- lection and juxtaposition of images, editing directly influences the rhythm, directing attention and shaping the narrativeand emotional interpretation of the presented events.
