Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse how love and sexuality in older adulthood are understood and represented in both social and cultural contexts. The point of departure is the psychosocial transformation associated with later life, including changes in emotional needs, relational identity and self-perception. The article explores how stereotypes, ageism and gerontophobia contribute to the marginalisation and symbolic exclusion of older adults - particularly in relation to intimacy, embodiment and the right to emotional expression. Special attention is paid to the underrepresentation of older adults in mainstream media and popular culture, and the way this absence affects their self-image. The study also highlights selected social campaigns and cultural texts that attempt to subvert dominant narratives and propose alternative depictions of later-life intimacy. The article is situated within the frameworks of developmental psychology, sexology and cultural theories of representation and social inclusion. The final part offers a reflection on the conditions required for genuine inclusion of older people - one that acknowledges their relational, emotional and embodied subjectivity.
