Summary/Abstract: The article explores genealogy as a form of intergenerational education and a means of activating older adults in the contemporary socio-cultural context. The research problem addresses the question: how can genealogy function as an effective tool for intergenerational learning that also engages older adults and counters their social marginalization? The primary objective is to assess the potential of genealogy for fostering senior activation. Specific aims include: (1) identifying mechanisms of intergenerational learning arising from the study of family history, (2) outlining strategies for engaging seniors in genealogical activities, and (3) examining their implications for generational cohesion and the prevention of social exclusion. The study applies a systematic narrative literature review based on the methodological guidelines of Czakon (2011) and Cisek (2010). The process involved defining inclusion criteria (Polish- and English-language articles and monographs published after 2000 on intergenerational education, senior activation, and genealogy), retrieving sources from Google Scholar, CEJSH, and BazHum, and conducting thematic content analysis. The findings indicate that genealogy can effectively bridge generations, restore cultural continuity, and give meaning to seniors' experiences. The conclusion is that genealogy--linking tradition and modernity--can serve as an educational, therapeutic, and activating tool, while strengthening younger generations' identity and family bonds.
