Through his writing style and multilingualism, he initiated a new development in Hispanic literature and indeed in world literature. This study of the aspects of death in several of Borges’s cuentos is dedicated to the German legal historian Elmar Wadle, who died in 2025 and who dealt extensively with the themes of death and inheritance in history and in current law.
