Summary/Abstract: Our research aims to examine the pedagogical and cultural impact of adapting the Kodály method into the Chinese educational environment. The research demonstrates, on both theoretical and empirical grounds, that the successful application of the method depends not on the mechanical transfer of formal elements, but on the cultural mediation of the educational goal system. Based on the analysed literature and practical examples, it can be established that the method most fully realises its educational potential when it appears not merely as a technical toolkit, but as contextually sensitive pedagogical thinking. The effectiveness of student musical attitudes and identity formation is closely correlated with teacher interpretation, curriculum localisation, and the supportive characteristics of the institutional and cultural environment. Chinese examples show that the application of Kodály principles becomes authentic when they engage in dialogue with local educational traditions, and when pedagogical transposition occurs not at the formal but at the conceptual level. In Hungarian music education, Chinese adaptations not only provide feedback on the method's validity but also open new perspectives on reflective, intercultural pedagogical practices.
