Summary/Abstract: This study examines Vos y yo en el futuro by Yamila Bêgné, one of the notable voices of contemporary Argentine literature, through the lenses of robot ethics and vulnerability. The main concern of the article is how the character of Jaz is constructed in the story and which ethical questions this construction raises in terms of human-robot relations. The article argues that Jaz is represented not merely as a technical product or a functional service device, but as an “emotional supplement” designed to meet human emotional needs. In this respect, the theoretical framework of the study is primarily based on Mark Coeckelbergh’s approach to robot ethics, while Rosi Braidotti’s reflections on the posthuman subject and vulnerability are employed as a supporting line of inquiry. The analysis demonstrates that, unlike classical science-fiction narratives centered on threat and rebellion, the story presents the robot figure as a being capable of emotional attachment and therefore open to vulnerability. Thus, Jaz emerges not simply as an object of use, but as a relational being whose interaction with humans generates ethical implications. Through Bêgné’s story, the study aims to open a discussion on the position of emotionally responsive artificial beings in relation to humans and on the need for a more inclusive, non-anthropocentric ethical perspective.
