Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the phenomenon of tourism in the contemporary era, defining it as a fundamental ontological characteristic of modern man. The aim of the research is to deconstruct the mechanisms through which tourism shapes global consciousness, transforms economic structures, and establishes new ethical standards. Methodologically, the study relies on a qualitative analysis of relevant literature and a comparative investigation of global trends. The analysis encompasses the evolution of tourism from an aristocratic ritual to a mass right to leisure, referencing seminal authors such as Zygmunt Bauman and Marc Augé. Particular focus is placed on the political economy of tourism, which reveals neocolonial patterns of exploitation and the crisis of mass tourism in leading world destinations. Furthermore, the paper examines the paradox of environmental sustainability and the possibility of truly green tourism under the conditions of the climate crisis. In the concluding section, the study analyzes the impact of technological singularity and the algorithmic management of desires in redefining the tourist experience. It concludes that the future of the tourism sector necessitates a transition to a new model based on the synergy of technology, responsible public policies, and conscious tourists.
