IT Systems Supporting the Management of Food Services in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland

Summary/Abstract: From the nineties of the twentieth century, from the point of view of improving the efficiency of the logistic system of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, the implementation and operation of information systems supporting functional logistics subsystems, in particular material services, had a significant impact on military logistics. World trends in both civil and military logistics indicate the desire to shorten the time of operations and activities. A similar philosophy also applies in the area related to the organization of the work of the military food service, which seeks to optimize processes through the use of IT tools. The novelty of the article is that in the literature on the subject there has been a lack of knowledge about IT systems in the army that support the management of food service. The article characterizes and analyzes and evaluates IT systems were made KONSUMENT, ABAK and EWOS and their prospects for development.
