Summary/Abstract: Educational time is a time of huge challenges and development for every child. For children with autism spectrum disorders, it is especially important, especially at its initial stage, which is preschool education. This is a time of developing basic skills on which a person's further life will be based. Surrounding a child with appropriate support at this stage increases their chances for future independence. The aim of this article is to answer the question whether therapeutic preschool points can be an answer to the challenges of educating children with autism spectrum disorders. The answer to this question was sought by analyzing the organization of education and therapy implemented in the „Ala and As” Preschool Point (monographic method). It is assumed that one of the challenges of present education is the inclusion of disabled students in mainstream schools, using the possibilities of special education. Its task is therefore to prepare child (to the extent possible) for further education in a larger group. To achieve this goal, they must have a number of basic skills, among which the most important will be communication and social competences. To develop them in preschool education institutions, it is necessary to simultaneously implement educational and therapeutic activities based on an individual therapy program for each child with a disability. The answer to these needs may be specialist institutions - dedicated to children with disabilities, especially children with autism spectrum disorders. They are distinguished by small groups and an increased number of staff, especially special educators. In addition to special kindergartens, this task is increasingly being carried out by therapeutic preschool points. Based on the presented data, it can be concluded that therapeutic preschool points may be a good alternative to implementing preschool education for children with autism spectrum disorders.
