Theatre as a tool for supporting regional community – theoretical and practical approach

Summary/Abstract: Theatre plays a key role in shaping regional community, being a space for transmitting intergenerational content, education, developing cultural competences and working through individual and collective traumas. This article presents the theoretical foundations of the social functions of theater in the context of regional education, as well as practical aspects of theater activities supporting the building of social bonds. The analysis included examples of theatre projects that show how theatre integrates local communities, strengthens the sense of regional identity and supports the development of community belonging.
