History of the Time of Troubles in the “Moscow chronicle” Alexander Gvanini

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the important historical source of the ecceptance of the history of the Russian state — The Chronicle of the Moscow Grand Duchy which was published in 1611 in Polish. The Chronicle included not only historical evidence of the Time of the Troubles (Smuta), but also a polemical essay that contained sharp criticism of the political and cultural values of Russia. This work was an important propaganda tool for the fight, served as the justification of the Polish intervention in the Russia’s internal affairs.
