The National Revival Historical Reserve in the Village of Svejen – A Cultural and Historical Heritage Site

Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at presenting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the National Revivalist Reserve “The Ancient Village of Svezhen”. To achieve this goal, the literature on the cultural and historical site in the village of Svezhen was studied; the objects in the Renaissance Historical Reserve in the village of Svezhen have been analyzed in historical, cultural and architectural aspects; the main functions of the architectural monuments in the Revivalist Historical Reserve in the village of Svezhen with their location and influence on the development of the architectural ensemble are presented. An interdisciplinary approach is applied – historical, architectural and art studies. The text is illustrated with rich photographic material, which serves for an easier and more accurate perception of the described cultural and historical object. The report can be presented to school children, students or ordinary visitors who wish to learn more about the rich history of the village of Svezhen and its surroundings, as well as help to realize the importance of preserving historical and cultural values, popularizing the tourist destination.
