New information about life and family of Diak Ivan Timofeev

Summary/Abstract: The report is devoted reconstruction of unknown episodes of the biography of well known diak Ivan Timofeev, the author of a valuable historical monument of the Revolt time — «Vremennik». Involving of new sources allows to define a place of service of the diak at the time of governing of Lzhedmitrii I, and also to ascertain, that, contrary to a popular opinion, Ivan Timofeev did not participate in suppression of Ivan Bolotnikov’s revolt. The new archival materials for the first time entered into a scientific turn, allows not only to specify information about the structure of Timofeev’s family, but also in a new way to estimate principles which the diak adhered at a writing of the historical document.
