Summary/Abstract: The events of the beginning of the 20th century brought serious changes in the direction of development of the Armenian question and left lasting traces in the Armenian national memory. After the Young Turk Revolution of July 1908, the Armenian question became an increasingly complex and intractable problem, which demonstrated a clear trend in Ottoman domestic political life – a systematic increase in anti-Armenian sentiments among the Muslim population of the empire. The purpose of the present study is to give an objective and reasoned presentation of the state of the Armenian national liberation movement and the relations between the Armenian national groups and the Young Turk party "Committee of Union and Progress” in the first years after the Young Turk Revolution, as well as to present and analyze on the basis of documentary sources, the massacres of Armenians in the Cilicia vilayets in April 1909. Furthermore, in the study, attention will be paid to the position of the great powers, which, with their actions, facilitated and encouraged the repressive policy of the Ottoman government. The research is original and contributes to Bulgarian historical science, which does not have enough studies of various aspects of the Armenian question.
