On the Need for Philosophy in Modern Education

Summary/Abstract: The author discusses contemporary problems of education (such as the elimination of the wisdom dimension of education, the strong subjectivisation of all spheres of human activity, the lack of a principle integrating cognitive aspects, the lack of a coherent model of humanistic education, the educational helplessness of the educational system), putting forward the thesis that philosophy should play a major role in solving them, which, together with the ethics belonging to it, are a great opportunity for education to rebuild classical education in modern times.
