Moral faculties at the heart of child development in education

Summary/Abstract: The article characterises moral skills, i.e. repeated readiness to behave in a way that is aimed at doing good, in the context of upbringing. Habit alone is not enough, an element of conscious action must be introduced to trigger the moral disposition. In practice, three areas of educational activities can be emphasised: intellectually - convincing the student to engage in a given behavior; in the emotional and impulsive dimension - developing certain habits; in the religious (spiritual) dimension – opening to God’s action.
