Summary/Abstract: In recent years, our world, and implicitly the European Union, has been facing profound demographic changes, which determine significant imbalances between generations, leading to serious social and economic consequences (on labor markets, economic growth, the sustainability of social systems across EU regions). Therefore, in our paper we aimed to carry out an analysis of demographic trends in the European Union, with an emphasis on two of the factors that strongly impact this phenomenon, namely population aging and migration, and to propose several solutions/ measures to mitigate this phenomenon. In this sense, we use a descriptive and empirical methodology, by calling on bibliographic resources from the specialized literature, as well as statistical data provided by relevant institutions (Eurostat).
