Summary/Abstract: Confucian educational thought has exerted a profound influence on Chinese society for more than two millennia, shaping conceptions of learning, teaching, moral cultivation, and social responsibility. Although contemporary educational systems operate in a rapidly changing global environment characterized by technological innovation, multicultural interaction, and evolving pedagogical paradigms, many principles associated with Confucian educational philosophy continue to resonate in modern educational discourse. This paper revisits several core Confucian educational values, including lifelong learning, self-cultivation, moral development, perseverance, and respect for teachers, and explores their relevance in contemporary language education. Rather than approaching Confucianism as a static historical doctrine, the paper examines its continuing significance as a framework for understanding the educational process as both intellectual and ethical formation. By analyzing selected concepts from the Confucian tradition and considering their implications for language learning and teaching, the study argues that Confucian educational thought offers valuable insights that remain relevant in contemporary educational contexts. At the same time, the paper acknowledges the limitations and challenges associated with the application of traditional educational values in modern learner-centered environments. Ultimately, the enduring influence of Confucian educational philosophy demonstrates the continuing importance of cultural traditions in shaping educational ideals and practices.
