Summary/Abstract: When using jokes in class, teachers are mere facilitators and students are more actively involved in classroom activities. I have noticed that even the shiest students become more daring when they are involved in humorous activities. These activities can also enhance students talking time in class and motivation to learn Romanian. Humor entails a thorough understanding of the underlying culture, what is funny is culturally defined, what is funny for one culture could be totally meaningless for the other.
