Summary/Abstract: In the present paper I intend to illustrate the way in which the Subject is treated in Traditional Grammars and , at the same time, the syntactic-semantic perspective given to the Subject by the Modern Grammars which define the Subject in relation to the central-verb, with certain predicative interjections, included in the verbal group or interjectional group. The subject is conditioned by the the ability of the verb to accept this position. There is also to be mentioned the existence of verbs which are incompatible with the presence of the subject. Another controversial aspect is the case in which the Subject stands.
