Summary/Abstract: This study examined the effect of the multisensory activities in teaching sports-related words(basketball) on a student with specific learning disabilities (dyslexia). The aim of the study wasto investigate the effect of this technique, based on the interests of the students, on vocabularyteaching. A single subject design was used and the participant was a 10-year-old male studentdiagnosed with specific learning disabilities (dyslexia). Data were collected throughobservation, lesson records and criterion-referenced measurement tools during six-week lessonsessions. The results of the study showed that the goal to learn the target vocabulary wasachieved and the student's motivation for learning increased through the lesson plansdeveloped in accordance with the student's interests.
