RELIGIOUS DETERMINANTS OF VOTER PREFERENCES OF POLAND IN THE 2023 PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

Summary/Abstract: With the issue of reviewing the relationship between the state and the Catholic Church in Poland emerging very strongly in the election campaign ahead of the 2023 parliamentary election among the electorate and representatives of the largest political parties, these elections seem to be a clash of civilisations, as the new parliamentary majority that emerges will decide the shape of this relationship. The aim of this article is to answer the question of whether religious issues determined electoral preferences in Polish society. The author provides an answer to this question through a statistical analysis of the author's quantitative survey conducted on a representative group of voters and through an analysis of historical data collected in reports by the Public Opinion Research Centre.
