Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes, through a practical approach, a series of relevant aspects regarding the fiscal and accounting treatment of value added tax, based on concrete situations encountered in practice. It presents the VAT implications in the case of the sale of land acquired through inheritance, highlighting the conditions under which such transactions fall outside the scope of VAT and do not trigger VAT registration obligations. It also examines the documentary requirements for justifying VAT exemption for intra-Community supplies of goods, emphasizing the relationship between national and European legislation, as well as the optional nature of applying certain EU provisions. Finally, the paper addresses the accounting treatment of additional VAT assessed by the tax authorities, including situations where it is challenged in court, highlighting the application of the prudence principle and the methods of reflecting such obligations in accounting.
