Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the relationship between formal education and success of women in real estate entrepreneurship in Limpopo Province of South Africa. Despite the growing participation of women in entrepreneurship, limited scholarly attention has been given to women operating in the real estate sector within the Capricorn District, making this context relatively understudied. The objective of the paper is to determine whether, and the extent to which, formal education influences levels of success among women in real estate business. A qualitative research approach was adopted using purposive sampling. Structured interviews were conducted with 18 women real estate entrepreneurs drawn from a population of 61 potential participants in the Capricorn District. Data were analysed using thematic analysis. The findings suggest that although formal education offers essential knowledge and fundamental business literacy, its impact on entrepreneurial success of women in real estate in the Capricorn District is regarded as minimal when contrasted with practical experience and self-directed learning. The study contributes to entrepreneurship literature by highlighting the importance of experiential learning, networking, and informal knowledge acquisition in shaping women’s success in real estate entrepreneurship in rural and semi-urban South African contexts.
