Summary/Abstract: The literary-editorial frame of Adam Czerniawski’s 'Poezje zebrane' ['Collected Poems'] (Lublin 2014) is presented in the article as a parergon – a liminal construct positioned alongside the principal work yet remaining in a relation of intimate interdependence with it, predicated upon a “play between the outside and the inside.” In this volume, which functions as a mode of authorial self-presentation, the frame enables the writer to reassert control over his artistic past and to project himself into his own literary future, effectively extending the temporal span of his authority over the work. The frame also facilitates a recognition of the poet’s dual role as the “host” of the collection: both as the agent responsible for each of the previously created poems and as the individual who, years later, passes down his lifelong lyrical legacy to the reader and simultaneously withdraws granting interpretive space to them.
