A STUDY OF THE LEXICAL REPERTOIRE OF ADJECTIVES IN CHILDREN AGED 6–7 YEARS

Summary/Abstract: This article examines the issue of enriching children`s vocabulary, with a practicular focus on the lexical repertoire of adjectives in children aged 6 – 7 years. The aim of the study is to determine the level of vocabulary development in children`s, in accordance with the expected outcomes specified in Regulation No. 5 of June 3, 2016 on preschool education. Research objectives: (1) To conduct a theoretical study related to the development of children`s vocabulary in preschool period; (2) To develop a diagnostic toolkit for studying the lexical repertoire of adjectives in children aged 6 – 7 years; (3) To test the diagnostic toolkit and summarize the study results. The conclusions are related to optimizing the work aimed at enriching children`s vocabulary and, more specifically, expanding the lexical repertoire of adjectives in children aged 6 – 7 years.
