Summary/Abstract: The rise of crypto assets has brought previously unknown legal issues to the surface, against which national supervisory authorities have had limited tools. In the absence of European Union and domestic regulations, authorities were unable to act effectively to protect the transparency of trading and investors' interests. The European Union, therefore, created a regulation on crypto assets in 2023, on the basis of which individual member states also began to create domestic legislation. In line with the MiCA Regulation, in 2025 the Hungarian legislator adapted the legal framework governing the procedures of the Hungarian National Bank and the Supervisory Authority for Regulated Activities to the emergence of crypto assets, which is examined in this study.
