Summary/Abstract: This article examines the role of wine in ancient Chinese tradition, presenting it not only as a material symbol of joy and togetherness but also as a source of inspiration in poetry and the arts. It also presents popular word games associated with drinking (酒令), their types and roles within social and intellectual circles, and provides examples of poets who participated in them – Li Bai, Du Fu, Wang Xizhi, and others. By comparing Western and Eastern cultural traditions, the study highlights the universal connection between the poetic rapture, creative inspiration, and social interaction.
