Summary/Abstract: Between 1919 and 1939, Romania and Poland shared a common border. Following the end of the First World War, both countries achieved national unification and became increasingly aware of the regional rivalries that surrounded them. Consequently, on 3 March 1921, the Defensive Alliance Convention was signed in Bucharest, establishing a broader framework for political and military cooperation and providing for mutual assistance in the event of aggression by Soviet Russia. In April 2023, 3 March was officially designated by law as the Day of Polish–Romanian Solidarity, commemorating the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations.
