Summary/Abstract: Large language models have paved the way to a new paradigm shift after neural network-based systems, whose improvements in quality encouraged its application to literary translation. This work aims to evaluate the impact of the use of Chatgpt on students’ translation competence. It is carried out through a comparative error analysis between human and interactive translations with Chatgpt focusing on the qualitative component. Results show that, although it can be helpful for students with a lower translation competence, it leads to errors that were not committed in the human versions, highlighting the importance of critical thinking.
