Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to determine the probable changes in the FDI flows between the member states of the European Union and Japan, which may occur as the result of the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and Japan. The FDI flows between the EU and Japan hitherto constituted an important element of the mutual economic relations. The article brings an analysis of the balance of mutual FDI flows between both areas. The results of the research suggest that the EPA may contribute to the increase in both the EU investments made in Japan and Japanese investments made in the EU member states. Polish investments in Japan will not represent a significant part of this increase, but there will be favorable conditions for their growth.
