Summary/Abstract: This paper is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of professor Juraj Furdík. One of the major achievements of this leading Slovak derivatologist was the development of the concept of the Word-Formation Dictionary of Slovak, intended to describe every lexical unit of the language from the perspective of the theory of word-formation motivation. The Word-Formation Dictionary of Slovak has not yet been realized in its originally proposed form; however, several versions have been developed. The first more comprehensive, though still partial, implementation is the Word-Formation Dictionary of Compounds in Slovak. In this paper, we present Furdík’s project, its subsequent versions, and the form of the Word-Formation Dictionary of Compounds in Slovak, which is based on the original concept. In connection with the development of artificial intelligence, new possibilities for the lexicographic processing of the Slovak word-formation system are emerging, opening up new perspectives for more efficient and faster processing of word-formation parameters.
