Summary/Abstract: In the evolving landscape of cultural democracy and economically driven cultural policies, museums are increasingly challenged to redefine their educational roles and pedagogical practices. This context highlights the urgent need for a cultural theory of learning that acknowledges culture as an active process of meaning-making. As such, museum learning emerges as a dynamic and value-generating experience. The complexity of this learning process raises critical questions regarding how it can be evaluated and what such evaluations reveal about its nature. In this regard, the global trend of cultural calibration underscores the importance of assessing learning outcomes and impact. Studies based on the Generic Learning Outcomes (GLO) framework offer insightful perspectives, demonstrating how museums can critically reflect on traditional paradigms and explore future-orientated strategies that enhance their educational potential.
