Summary/Abstract: The “German” church in Bardarski Geran is classified as an architectural site of local significance, yet the potential carried by its history is substantial for the development of the region through tourism and educational programmes. The study examines the site within its broader context and perspectives through the concept of genius loci, which presents the place and its spirit as a foundation for processual existence and a metaconcept. It traces the history of the creation of two communities and the intertwining of their identities, which unfolds through the existence of a single temple. The research provides context and analysis of opportunities for intercultural cooperation and the strengthening of ties between science and education, with the aim of fostering tourism in the region and attracting the interest of various researchers and organisations for partnership.
