Summary/Abstract: The present study brings to light “Putna Monastery’s Protocol of Orders”, vol. I (1783‒1810), which contains copies of letters sent to Putna Monastery by the Diocesan Center in Chernivtsi. The most important information concerns the repair of the church tower roof, carried out in 1802; subsequent repairs undertaken until 1808; the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the monastery garden, which the Consistory transferred to the parish of Voitinel in 1805–1806; and the transfer to Chernivtsi of several bells and an iconostasis that had belonged to the Sihăstria Putnei Skete, in 1786 and 1789. In addition, the “Protocol” also includes other information of more general interest: how the Church functioned in Bukovina after 1775, regulations governing monastic life, the sketes of Sihăstria Suceviței and Zamostie, patrimony, education, and other topics.
