Summary/Abstract: Achieving economic growth is a desideratum for any nation for the welfare it normally brings to society. Thus, economic growth is an upward movement of macroeconomic performance per capita over the very long term, which determines economic development. In today's world economic activities take place in a wide variety of natural, technical-scientific, social, political conditions. Despite these differences, they are strongly united and interdependent, and their content and meaning can be understood and appreciated in relation to the social and political environment of each country, as well as to the general, national-state interests. Economic growth and the circular economy are interconnected concepts, and the shift from a linear to a circular economic model can have significant implications for economic growth. In the context of the circular economy, the perspective on economic growth is different from the traditional model. In the circular economy, economic growth is linked to concepts such as resource efficiency, recycling and regeneration, in contrast to the linear 'production-consumption-disposal' model that characterizes traditional economic growth.
