Summary/Abstract: Job burnout represents one of the most significant psychological phenomena in the modern work environment. It encompasses chronic workplace stress that leads to emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and a reduced sense of personal accomplishment. The hospitality industry, as a dynamic and demanding sector, has been recognized as one of the working environments where the risk of burnout is particularly pronounced. The conducted research analyzes the phenomenon of job burnout and its relationship with employees’ intention to leave their jobs. The subject of this paper is the connection between burnout and turnover intention. The main objective of the study is to determine whether there is a correlation between burnout and the intention to leave the job among employees in the restaurant industry, as well as to identify the main causes of workplace stress. The survey was conducted anonymously among employees in hospitality establishments located in Novi Sad. The research included employees of different hierarchical levels and degrees of autonomy. Data were collected both in person and through an online questionnaire. Of the 150 questionnaires that were distributed, 120 were validly completed and incorporated into the analysis. The results revealed a moderate level of burnout among restaurant employees and a statistically significant positive relationship between burnout—particularly emotional exhaustion—and turnover intention.
