METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS TO STUDENTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS IN THE EARLY STAGES OF PRIMARY EDUCATION

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses some specific approaches that are effective in teaching mathematics to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The article also describes some characteristics of students with autism and lists some methodological approaches to teaching them mathematics. A mathematical model is discussed that allows for the gradual expansion and addition of new learning material. Sample tasks are also described that would be appropriate for teaching students with autism spectrum disorders in a general education classroom.
