Summary/Abstract: Political leadership in contemporary democracies of Latin America. Hugo Chavez – Venezuelan leader against the background of the specificity of Latin American leadership modelIn this article was made an attempt to create a Latin American political leadership model based on cultural determinants. Defining the specificity of leadership helped, in turn, to analyze actions and decisions of one of the leaders of the region – Hugo Chávez – by taking the Latin American model into account. Focusing on the individual case made it possible to verify how political culture and tradition can affect the shape and style of leadership in the contemporary democratic state of Latin America.
