Summary/Abstract: Language is power. Through language, the future of everyone’s life is determined. Wars are settled, conflicts and revolutions are stopped, and politics is defined through the use of language. This paper analyzes how the meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, in February 2025, revealed the Trump Administration's perspective on foreign policy, and, more precisely, on the Russian-Ukrainian war. I will apply the Critical Discourse Analysis theory postulated by Norman Fairclough, also utilizing concepts such as impoliteness superstrategies and metastrategies (Culpeper 1996, 2005), as well as analyzing the use of different words/ expressions that contributed to what was presented as a `diplomatic disaster` at the White House.
