Summary/Abstract: Investments are a key factor in economic development. In Poland, the decline in investments has been occurring for several years; including small and medium-sized enterprises and local governments. Investment needs are estimated at PLN 2 to 4 trillion. There are at least several factors for the low level of investment. Both banks and the capital market do not fulfil their role in this area. The question arises as to how quickly the barriers to investment growth can be overcome. Financial barriers are undoubtedly crucial. There is excess liquidity on the Polish financial market; Hence the attempt to look for an answer on how to use it to increase investments. Against the background of analyses, proposals for new financing instruments were presented. The low knowledge and financial education of investors is also a problem. These phenomena are compounded by negative external conditions. However, the economic outlook for the coming years is optimistic; a significant increase in investments in Poland is real.
